Power System Emergency Workshops for LDCs, Connected Wholesale Customers and Local Generators
Each year, depending on need, the IESO hosts several local one-day workshops designed for local distribution companies (LDCs), connected wholesale customers, and local generators.
The workshops are targeted to operations managers, operating supervisors and emergency planning and management staff. The purpose is to provide a focused refresher on reliability preparedness and response by identifying and sharing plans and best practices. This is not an IESO-led lecture or conference -- instead, the IESO will facilitate discussions among local area participants who will play a lead role by discussing their own emergency plans while working through a series of realistic local scenarios.

We will present a scenario, then participants will describe the impact on their facility or operation, how they would respond and who they would coordinate with. IESO staff, including system operators, will facilitate the conversations.
The workshops include time for informal discussions and networking among participants.
