DACP for Dispatchable Generators
If you are a dispatchable generator, there are requirements that you need to be aware of in order to participate in the real-time energy market. These requirements include:
Daily Requirements
- Submit dispatch data to the IESO by 10 a.m. EST on the pre-dispatch day in order to be dispatched in real-time.
- Submit daily energy limits - for generators with water, fuel or environmental limitations that restrict the total energy they can produce in a day.
- Eligible Energy-Limited Resources (EELR) have one opportunity to revise their offers following the first DACP run between 11:00 and 12:00
- We accept dispatch data submissions during the DACP optimization process (between 10:00 and 14:00) from the following:
- Non-dispatchable generation facilities(forecasts and schedules).
- Physical units associated with a pseudo unit (i.e., the physical CT and ST that make up a pseudo unit) to assist in pre-dispatch and real-time scheduling.
- Eligible Energy Limited Resources (EELR) that pass standard validation rules.
Day Ahead Production Cost Guarantee Eligible Facilities
DA-PCG eligible facilities are eligible for a settlement amount that guarantees cost recovery for eligible dispatchable generation facilities when dispatched to produce energy in thereal-time market, and where real-time revenue is insufficient to cover as-offered costs to produce schedules as committed day-ahead.
Submission of Three-Part Offers
If a facility chooses, they can submit Three Part Offers as part of the DACP. Three part offers consist of:
- Start Up Cost
- Speed No Load Cost
- Energy Offer
To register for these offers, please complete IESO FORM 1721 - Implementation of Three-Part Offers.
Registration Requirements
All generators must submit the following:
- Primary Fuel Type
- Secondary Fuel Types
- Elapsed Time to Dispatch (ETD)
- Daily Cascading Hydroelectric Dependency (DCHD) (if applicable)
- Quick Start facilities (if applicable)
- Cascading hydroelectric dependent generation resource (if applicable)
Pseudo Units
Generation facilities that are part of a combined cycle plant must provide us with:
- Physical CT and ST Resource Names and Resource Ids
- Steam Turbine Percentage Share of Pseudo Unit.
- Steam Turbine Duct Firing Capacity.
- Steam Turbine MLPs for n-on-1 CT-to-ST configuration.
- Declaration to use Pseudo Unit (PSU) model.
Not Quick Start
Not quick start dispatchable generation facilities must submit the following Registered Technical Data (RTD) for each resource:
- Minimum Loading Point (MLP)
- Minimum Run-Rime (MRT)
- Minimum Generation Block Run-Time (MGBRT)
DACP Settlement Charges
There are new settlement charges that may apply to you. Further information on DACP settlement procedures and processes are available in the relevant market manual.
