Market Advisory Council

The Market Advisory Council (MAC) is a key part of the IESO's consultation process. It is the forum for all participants and stakeholders to engage in open dialogue with the IESO and with each other on fundamental choices and directions for Ontario's evolving market.

The MAC provides the IESO with advice on the fundamental features of the market�s evolution by considering and deliberating on key market issues referred to it by:

Membership and Organization

The MAC is chaired by the IESO's Vice President of Market Services and comprises:

One representative for each market participant. Appointed representatives may be changed by notifying the IESO in writing.
Market participant representative associations
Affiliated sector stakeholders
- i.e., environmental and smaller consumer groups
The OEB and the Ministry of Environment and Energy are represented as observers.

Questions regarding the Market Advisory Council or its membership can be directed to the MAC Secretary, Al Findlay.

Schedule of Meetings

The MAC will meet at least three times per year and may meet more frequently at the discretion of the Chair, based on need. Written notice of each meeting is provided at least seven days in advance. Attendance may be in person or via teleconferencing facilities. Participation is voluntary.
